My Smokey is also affected by Feline Lower Urinary Tract disease so I can understand the frustrations you've been through. Smokey has had several episodes within the past 3 years. Each time, he was lucky enough to be quickly "unblocked" with only a two night stay at the vets with the catheter and IV meds. So far, he's been about 9 months with no recurrence. I have changed the litter from the clumping type to a natural pine litter and all of my cats love it, plus it has a nice smell!! I have also switched his diet to the Urinary Tract Health Formula and have TRIED to get him to lose weight. A vets assistant told me that she personally has only seen this disease in cats who are overweight!....and ALL my cats are somewhat PLUMP!!
Enjoy Cheese! I totally understand the 'character' that he must be since his TV character was one of my daughters favorites! :)

Thank you, Allison and Yvonne,
Whether from a breeder or the parking lot of KFC, we invest a lot in our animal companions. I'm not talking $$ but that is certainly part of the investment. Good or bad, we let these animals into our hearts and can't allow them to suffer. We form a bond, and we'd do anything to allow them the best life we can.
Yvonne, I would have to admit that "Tripod" would probably be the top of our naming list for a similar beast. It is amazing how these creatures adapt to their disabilities, isn't it?

Dear cheese and family,
I wanted to take a minute and tell you what wonderful people I think you and your family are. I rescued a cat from the parking lot of a KFC who had part of his front leg missing. He was a wild cat and I spent several nights out there with a Have-A-Heart trap and was finally able to catch him. Off to the vet we went and I spent almost $4000.00 on surgeries. I can't tell you the number of people who thought I was crazy for doing this. I literally almost went broke over trying to save this animal. The surgeries were a success, but they had to amputate the rest of his front leg. He runs, plays and most people are in my house for hours before they even realize he only has three legs. No, I didn't name him "Tripod", but it did cross my mind :-) He is a happy and healthy boy, the love of my life, and worth every penny I spent. God bless you, your family and your beautiful fur-babies. I will keep you in my prayers!

Oh my gosh...how creative! I hope Cheese is doing well. That has to be one of the cutest cats I have ever seen! I recently had to spend $2500 on emergency surgery for my dog. Don't let people think you are crazy in wanting to save your pet....they are as much part of the family as your children, and just think, it costs less than college. haha. Your Lol catz are so creative and funny. I wish your family the best!

PS-What a great name!!!!!!
